Canstar is Australia’s biggest financial comparison site, helping consumers make financial decisions with confidence. The Research Innovation team at Canstar are looking for a talented product manager to help grow their B2B product offering. This exciting new role is testament to their success and reiterates their commitment to keeping consumers informed and making consumer products more competitive. This is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for product innovation, and a background in product management.
Reporting to the Group Manager, Research and Ratings, this role will focus on the delivery of the following:
- Analysis of the existing product portfolio and performance, identifying opportunities for new product development;
- Conduct research and gather insights from Canstar’s existing client base to inform the overarching strategy and identify opportunities to innovate;
- Assist in the creation and submission of detailed investment cases to present to key stakeholders, detailing forecasted commercial outcomes;
- Define the timeline, vision and optimal development methodology to drive and deliver new product initiatives;
- Work collaboratively with the Research Innovation Manager to shape and launch new product initiatives;
- Strive for velocity and efficiency, with a strong emphasis on continuous delivery and optimization; and
- Own the objectives and KPIs for the product, working with stakeholders across business functions to ensure that the success of the product can be measured.
To be considered for this role, your background and skill set must meet the following requirements:
- Formal degree in finance, business, marketing or a related discipline;
- At least five years’ experience in product management, including new product development;
- Comfortable working with complex data sets and providing insights tailored to varying audiences;
- Proven ability to lead and work with a cross functional team;
- Ability to justify commercial impacts using qualitative and quantitative data points;
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and show flexibility in a dynamic environment with a high / fast rate of change;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail; and
- An understanding of the banking, finance or professional services industries.
