We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a General Services Team Leader
There are two positions available :
1. Maintenance and Gardening/Landscaping
2. Cleaning and Homecare Services
As a general services team leader you will be responsible for organising, directing and completing allocated work tasks with / alongside a small group of workers and or students on placement.
The employees in your work group may be on disability support wage or be students on placement and require a team leader who can provide direction and supervision to ensure the work tasks are completed to the highest standards in a mature, positive and safe manner.
What would a regular working day look like ?
On a regular day you would meet with the work team and organise the relevant equipment and items needed for the work run. You would plan the work week and tasks to maximise productivity and minimise travel time.
The team including yourself would then go to the relevant sites and locations to complete the daily work tasks. You would be responsible for ensuring tasks are completed and equipment is maintained as relevant to the work task.
This would involve driving a work vehicle ie a van/ cleaning van and for the maintenance role utility car and trailer.
The types of sites where work is to be performed includes :
- Private Homes
- Commercial Premises - childcare centres/ disability centres
- Business Offices
- Cafe/Hospitality and Accommodation Resort sites
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday

The General Services Team Leader - Cleaning and Homecare
Oversee aspects of maintaining residences / premises which includes
- Cleaning duties- kitchens, bond cleans
- Cleaning all aspects of the house - bathrooms, toilets, floors
- Laundry and ironing, wardrobe management
- Bed Making, Mattress protector changes
- Stock counts of linen and homewares
- Office cleaning duties- vacuuming
- Vehicle cleaning and detailing
The General Services Team Leader - Maintenance and Gardening
- Mowing and whipper snipping
- Garden clean ups - raking
- Pruning activities
- Weeding and weed control management
- Monitoring and performing basic pool maintenance
- Car cleaning and basic maintenance - tire pressure
- Window cleaning
- Using a range of equipment - gurney, blowers, mowers
The successful applicant will also have :
- Immaculate personal presentation and professionalism
- Exceptional communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Self-motivated and the ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Driver’s license
- National police check
