About the role
Due to new projects currently being undertaken, we are seeking an experienced HV Commissioning / Protection Technician with prior experience in testing and commissioning activities associated with HV Power Systems.
Responsibilities include:
- HV testing and commissioning
- Troubleshooting
- FAT, SAT and SIT testing
- Protection relay testing
- Primary and secondary injection testing
- Prepare technical reports, with results and suitable recommendations.
- Liaising with internal & external stakeholders
- Training of staff.

Skills and experience
To be considered for this role you will need:
- Minimum 5 years post trade experience in a commissioning, testing and completions environment
- Extensive experience with high voltage testing and commissioning
- Experience using proprietary testing equipment
- Experience performing testing on a wide range of equipment i.e. protection relays, CT's, VT's CB's, Transformers etc. including Siemens, SEL, Alstom, Schneider, ABB, GE etc.
- Ability to liaise and communicate with clients effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Team player, and ability to work flexible hours
