Broadspectrum are currently seeking an experienced Fitter/Armourer to join the team on the defence contract at Amberley on a temporary 3 month full time basis, with the view to potentially go permanent.
About the role:
Working Monday to Friday, the role of a Fitter/Armourer is to conduct various weapon maintenance tasks, varying from installation and repair through to the reconditioning of military armaments. Further responsibilities include:
- Examine detailed specifications to determine requirements of the job;
- Operate machines to produce or modify required parts or tools;
- Check quality of finished parts;
- Fit and assemble parts;
- Providing technical advice to equipment operators;
- Conducting data entry tasks;
- Repair and maintain miscellaneous equipment including small engines, fired and unfired pressure vessels, fuel assets, and general service equipment;
- Participate in safety development programs
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
- Trade qualified fitter and turner (Cert III);
- Fitter Armourer Maintenance Techniques qualification essential;
- Support Weapons Qualification preferred;
- Current Drivers Licence (C Class);
- Experience operating lathes, millers and other metal working machines;
- Proven experience with Oxy/Acet, Arc, MIG, TIG welding and metal fabrication processes.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake a full medical including drug and alcohol screen, as well as be eligible for an Australian Defence Clearance. If you meet these requirements and are interested in the role please apply now.
