Part-time, 20 hours a week

Job description:

• Process invoices/expenses, review account receivables and enter receipts and payments into books
• Perform treasury function to ensure optimal cash management
• Prepare and share cost centre reports
• Assist in management of cash flow
• Maintain fixed assets physical inventory
• Maintain excellent records to facilitate internal and external audits
• File financial statements for statutory purposes
• Liaise with UK tax authorities and maintain tax records and payments in respect of corporate taxes, VAT and PAYE
• Assist in monitoring grants
• Maintain student accounting and support financial assistance work
• Ensure compliance with FCA and other regulatory requirements
• File annual companies house return and act as Secretary to the Board of Aga Khan University (International)

Requirements:

• A part-qualified accountant with experience in Finance and Accounting
• Strong technical accounting skills
• Demonstrable experience with statutory filing requirements in the UK
• Strong understanding of internal financial controls and a good awareness of financial risks
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills; written and verbal
• Ability to write policies and reports in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to engage effectively with people at all levels both internally and externally
• Ability to work accurately with attention to detail, multi-task and meet deadlines
• Excellent proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office packages particularly working with spreadsheets
