Detail information about job Biological Science Technician. Terms and conditions vacancy
Lancaster University has a world-class reputation as a centre for excellence in teaching and research. It is highly ranked in each of the UK’s major university league tables. The Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences, within the Faculty of Health and Medicine, now seeks to enhance its research activity by appointing a Biological Sciences Research Technician.
We want you to become part of a rapidly growing, innovative and vibrant Division whose research effort is directed towards understanding basic cellular and physiological mechanisms that underpin disease states. Research areas include, but are not limited to, infectious diseases, parasitology, neurodegeneration, mental health, ageing, immunology and cancer biology. You will have experience and expertise relevant to one or more of these areas and be prepared to learn new skills.
We expect you to support research activity in the Division by working with academic staff, other technical staff, and students (undergraduate and postgraduate). We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic and keen to contribute to our research effort.
In return the Division can offer you a friendly research environment that strongly supports the individual needs of each employee and which actively promotes a healthy work-life balance. The Faculty is committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies and has held a Silver Athena SWAN award since 2014 in recognition of its good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research.
Please note that we are also advertising for a Biochemistry Research Technician, and you may apply for either or both of these positions.
Informal enquiries, and pre-application visits, are welcomed. Please contact Michelle Bates, Chief Technical Manager, (01524) 593466, email: [email protected]
