Detail information about job Disability Cycling Activator. Terms and conditions vacancy
Do you have an enthusiasm for sport and physical activity? Do you have excellent organisation skills with the ability to plan and prioritise work effectively?
The University of Leeds has a new strategy for sport which articulates our aim of becoming the leading provider of University sport in the UK. Through this strategy we are committed to ensuring we provide opportunities for our students, staff and members of the local community to fulfil their sporting potential. A key outcome of this strategy is our commitment to invest in our sporting infrastructure and in April 2017 we opened the Brownlee Centre and a brand new closed road cycle circuit. Working together with Leeds City Council (Active Leeds) and British Cycling, we are together looking to appoint a Disability Cycling Activator to help us develop a disability cycling hub at this new facility.
Reporting to the Triathlon and Cycling Development Coordinator you will be responsible for assisting to co-ordinate the cycling programme, delivering coaching activity to drive participation and retention of participants, whilst also signposting to develop further opportunities within the sport of cycling.
Other duties will include monitoring and uploading weekly participant attendance, and working in partnership with Leeds City Council (Active Leeds), British Cycling, Leeds University Union and others to further develop opportunities for all in disability cycling.
You will be based at the Brownlee Centre but will work closely with other activators across the city to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to development and delivery.
You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business, which may include working evenings and weekends when appropriate and working variable hours depending on the needs of the service (hours will be approximately 10 hours per week).
