The Department of Information Studies is looking for a number of Postgraduate Teaching Assistants (PGTAs) for its undergraduate courses in programming, information systems, web technologies, database systems and the Semantic Web. PGTAs will run computer practical classes each week in term- time, during which they will answer questions relating to material presented in the week’s lecture.

The number of practical's to be led varies for each course and will be confirmed before teaching begins. The post holder will maintain an up-to-date register of attendance for all practical sessions.

Liaising regularly with the Course Tutor regarding the content and progress of the computer practicals will be required. PGTAs will also normally assist the Course Tutors in marking student assessments (full guidance will be provided).

We particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates as they are under-represented within UCL at this level.

This position does not meet the resident labour market test under UK Visas and Immigration rules and therefore UCL would be unable to obtain the right to work for non-EEA nationals whose employment would require a Tier 2 visa.
