Applications are invited for a Research Assistant in Colorectal Cancer to work at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics.
You will work in cancer and human genetics, including sample preparation, library preparation for sequencing, genotyping, mutation screening and analysis, mouse colony curation, undertaking basic procedures of husbandry, cell culture and analysis, tissue preparation and analysis, functional assays and other work as necessary.
You will have a degree in molecular biology or in a relevant subject with an experience of basic methods of molecular genetics. You will have the ability to organise and prioritise work efficiently, delivering results to a high standard and to an agreed schedule. You will be able to demonstrate a high level of communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
The position is funded by the National Institute of Health (NIHR) and is fixed-term until the end of September 2019 in the first instance.
