Postgraduate Research Studentship

Sponsored by the European Research Council (ERC)

Applications are invited for a 3-year PhD studentship in the Centre for Telecommunications Research group in the Department of Informatics, King’s College London, ideally to begin in January 2018.

The Project

The Centre for Telecommunications Research group at King's College London can offer an outstanding student with a university degree a PhD studentship funded by a grant from the European Research Council (ERC) held by Professor Osvaldo Simeone. The successful candidate will work on a research project in the wide area of information theory, wireless communications and machine learning. The preferred start date is January 2018 and the duration is 3 years.

Funding

The PhD studentship lasts three years and provides a stipend of £24,000 per annum, inclusive of a London allowance, from which tuition fees should be paid.

Eligibility

To apply, you must have an outstanding undergraduate or MSc degree in Electronic Engineering from a high-merit institution, and master all the subjects within the standard undergraduate engineering programme, and ideally be familiar with topics in information theory and machine learning. In addition, the successful candidate should be able to program with Matlab.
