An exciting opportunity has arisen to give pre-consultant paediatricians in training to develop new research interests in paediatric haematology and oncology at the UCL Institute of Child Health. The post holder will choose from a portfolio of available clinical and translational research projects in paediatric malignant haematology, neuro-oncology or solid tumour oncology. Applicants with previous research experience and degrees or seeking a first experience of research training are equally welcomed to apply.
The Institute of Child Health works in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). The post holder will hold an honorary contract with GOSH and will partake in the out of hours and weekend on call rota for haematology and oncology, which will be separately remunerated.
This post is funded for 10 months in the first instance.
The appointee must be a medical graduate with post graduate qualifications in paediatrics (MRCPCH or equivalent) and previous experience in the management of paediatric patients with malignancy. Knowledge of clinical research methods is essential. Basic computing skills is essential and previous experience with databases is desirable.
