Detail information about job Lecturer in Quantum Engineering. Terms and conditions vacancy

The Quantum Engineering Centre for Doctoral Training (QE-CDT) offers exceptional graduates a four‐year doctoral training programme, underpinned by world‐class research and industrial expertise. The Centre is training a new generation of engineers, research leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals with the skills and knowledge to tackle the most important challenges in modern science and technology – harnessing the power of quantum mechanics using the latest industrial technologies. This innovative CDT, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), bridges the disciplines of physics, engineering, mathematics and computer science, working closely with chemists and biologists and interacting strongly with industry. Based in the £12M Nanoscience and Quantum Information building, the Centre is a key component of the University’s graduate training programme.

We are looking to recruit an exceptional individual to take up an early career academic lectureship position linked to the QE-CDT.  You will support the delivery of the CDT programme as well as conduct experimental research that is related to the field of Quantum Engineering and Quantum Photonics. You will join the CDT management team with responsibility for co‐ordinating the CDT’s training programme, ensuring a high quality postgraduate student experience, taking a leadership role and engaging in the training and teaching of each cohort. You will work closely with the CDT Manager and CDT management team, under the guidance of the Centre Director and Deputy Director.

The position is based in the purpose-built Nanoscience and Quantum Information building, working across the multi‐disciplinary QE-CDT and the world‐leading Quantum Engineering Technology Laboratories (QETLabs). We are specifically seeking a research-active individual working in experimental quantum information, who can demonstrate the ability to generate their own research activities and proposals within the broad area of Quantum Technologies.

The School of Physics welcomes applications from all qualified candidates  The School holds an Athena Swan Bronze award and Juno  practitioner status from the Institute of Physics in recognition of our commitment to advancing women’s careers in science, technology, engineering,  maths and medicine (STEMM) employment in higher education and research and for ensuring equal opportunity for all.

This is an open ended appointment with fixed funding until August 2019, with the possibility of EPSRC renewal.
