Location: Based at Riccarton Campus, near Edinburgh but with operation internationally.
Salary: Associate Professor – Grade 9: £49,149 – £56,950 / Assistant Professor – Grade 7: £31,604 - £38,833 or 8: £39,991 - £47,722 (salary dependent on experience and qualifications).

As part of its strategic expansion, Heriot-Watt now seeks to make appointments at Assistant or Associate Professor Level in the telecommunications area. We have recently formed a strategic partnership with Xidian University in China and are running a joint (3+1) course with them in telecommunications. Successful candidates will be located in the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences in Edinburgh. They will be expected to take a strong leadership role in the development and delivery of our joint telecommunication programme with Xidian University. We seek candidates with academic track record of research, able to contribute positively to our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
To be considered for this role, you will have knowledge and experience in the area of telecommunication, networking, digital communications, signal processing, embedded systems, with a successful track record of obtaining external funding, as well as previous teaching and learning experience. Candidates with specific expertise 5G, Internet Of Things, Space and Wireless communications in difficult environments are particularly welcome. A PhD in electrical/electronic engineering or related discipline is essential, along with evidence of vision, drive, and determination to succeed.
