Summary:

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and internationally focused group of legal scholars. The successful candidate will make a contribution to research-led teaching in her or his area of expertise as well as delivering teaching on the Law (with French Law) programme. We are looking for a someone who will design and deliver teaching courses, carry out assessment for courses and supervise undergraduate projects. You will carry out a pastoral role for students and advise students about their year abroad. You will conduct personal research, including writing up work for publication and identify sources of funding and prepare research proposals for funding bodies. The ideal candidate will have a good first degree (or equivalent qualifications/experience) and have or be working towards a PhD in a relevant subject area. You will have proven teaching abilities, excellent knowledge of French and French Law and evidence of sustained and continuing research performance.

The principal current undergraduate programmes offered by the School are the Qualifying Law Degrees of LLB Law, LLB Law and Criminology, LLB Law (with French Law, German Law, Spanish Law or Chinese Law) and LLB Law (European and International), together with the BA in Criminology. Our suite of postgraduate programmes includes the LLM (with the option to specialise in one of three pathways: International Law and Global Justice, European Law, and Corporate and Commercial Law); the MA in International Criminology, the MA (Law) and the Graduate Diploma in Law; and the MA in Legal Practice (the Legal Practice Course).

This post is offered as a fixed-term contract from 1 January 2018 (or earlier) to 30 June 2019.
