We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Scientist for an international research effort funded by the European Union (IMI2). You will be joining the UK arm, led by Prof Stephen McMahon and Dr Franziska Denk at King’s College London. The project aims to improve our understanding of chronic pain states, particularly those caused by neuropathic injuries arising from trauma or cancer treatment. The successful applicant will lead studies involving co-cultures of purified cell types, including peripheral sensory neurons, glia and immune cells.
You will be joining a multidisciplinary research community at the Wolfson Centre for Age-Related Diseases, where your research will benefit from the input of many friendly colleagues and the joint supervision of two investigators who combine the best of two worlds: advice and inspiration from one of the pre-eminent leaders in pain research and practical day-to-day guidance on research techniques from a junior PI.
The selection process will include competency based questions in a panel interview, a presentation and a practical assessment. Interviews are scheduled to be held the week commencing the 9th of October.
