Maternity cover: This post is fixed-term for 12 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.

We are looking for a dynamic and professional administrator to support undergraduate teaching and learning across the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages. Reporting to the Assistant Faculty Administrator, you will have special responsibility for the Italian Section (including modern Greek), ensuring that the Sections' teaching, examining, finances and events run smoothly. The role holder acts as the first point of contact for all enquiries relating to the Italian Section from students, staff, visitors and members of the public. This will entail working effectively with a wide range of academic and support staff in the Faculty and in the University's central offices.

Key responsibilities include answering queries from teaching staff, preparing examination materials, providing financial administration support to the Director of Italian and providing general administration support for the Department. The role holder will work proactively and effectively as a member of a team and will build a good working relationship with colleagues.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, flexible and adept at assimilating information quickly. They will be educated to A-level standard and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Possessing good IT skills for administrative purposes is required, and previous experience of editing web pages would be desirable. The role holder will be required to manage and prioritize their workload effectively in order to meet deadlines.
