About the business
Our client; one of the worlds leading property development companies, have recently established a New Zealand operation. Due to predicted rapid growth, they have a need for a fluent mandarin speaking, Regional Financial Controller.
About the role
Reporting into the Group CFO based in China and the Regional President here in NZ, the Regional Financial Controller supervises the finance unit and is the chief financial spokesperson for the region.
Responsibilities include:-
Financial Accounting, Compliance and Internal Control
- Oversee fiscal reporting activities for the region, including: revenue/expenses, balance sheet reports & reports to independent auditors, tax authorities, government bodies and funding agencies.
- Develop robust risk & internal control systems, to safeguard regional financial assets.
Tax Planning
- Participate in the decision making and analysis of significant investment and operating activities for the region.
- Organize and perform financial and tax due diligence on M&A projects.
Management Accounting
- Assess the financial performance of a number of high profile investment projects.
- Creation and development of regional budgets.
- Financial modeling and analysis of M&A & investment projects.
- Monitor and organize the implementation of a project-performance-based, incentive program, including the calculation and payment of bonuses.
Treasury and Fund Raising
- Oversee fund planning for the region, including operating cash flow & capital expenditure..
- Organize banking activities for the region.
Skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree or above from renowned education institutions.
- Major in accounting, finance or business administration.
- CA, CPA or ACCA holder is preferred.
- 8 years + experience within a large, listed company environment (property, highly advantageous)
- Experience developing relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
