Broadspectrum are seeking hardworking and qualified Utility/Vegetation Arborist to be part of their Vegetation Control team in Napier.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role involves maintenance and vegetation control on Transpower's transmission high voltage network throughout the Wellington/Napier region.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will need to have or will be working towards an appropriate arboriculture qualification, have practical arboriculture experience, and a heavy trade driver's license would be advantageous.
Other requirements:
- Can correctly interpret written and spoken English information and translate it into the tasks at hand; Fluent verbal English skills; Can communicate clearly with team members , sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Demonstrated high levels of understanding of and adherence to the Health and Safety practices;
- Demonstrated ability, willingness and commitment to be multi-skilled and up-skilled; Continuously up-dates necessary skills and knowledge as required for the role.
- A minimum Class 2 Driver’s licence
- Physically fit especially with regards to heavy lifting, stretching and climbing; Maintains physical fitness to the level required by the position; Ensures they are in a fit state on the day to undertake the role;
- Not afraid of heights; Physically flexible; Has and maintains a level of physical fitness that allows working in adverse weather conditions; No impaired senses, especially hearing (wearing of prescription glasses is not a problem); Manual dexterity.
You will also need to be a team player, have an excellent safety attitude, and the ability to take ownership of the job.
