-  Opportunity to join an experienced in-house Governance team during a vitally important period for New Zealand’s energy sector

Reporting to the Head of Regulatory Affairs and Government Relations you will form a key part of our Governance Team.  A great part-time opportunity has become available to join a high-performing, engaged team during a time of rapid change in the electricity sector.

This is a role which will see you work across Contact’s customer and generation businesses to extract knowledge from our experts and develop well-considered, evidence-based submissions on the future shape of our industry and company. In addition, you will assist in the delivery of Contact’s Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs work programme.

Now is currently a time of both challenge and opportunity for Contact. At the same time as investing in our future, we must continue to add value to our customers and deliver safe, secure and reliable energy supplies at fair prices.

There is a high level of interest in our industry and the potential changes we can help deliver for New Zealand. The person in this role will need to have attention to detail and the ability to manage important relationships with key government and regulatory stakeholders.

You will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal) with an interest and / or experience in one or more of the following:

-  policy development

-  New Zealand’s energy futue

-  regulatory frameworks

-  government relations

-  law

-  journalism

To be successful in this role you will need a strong client-service ethic and pragmatic, can-do attitude. In addition to this an understanding of, or keen interest in the energy would be ideal.
