About the business
Community Legal Services South Trust is a Community Law Centre based in Otara . We cover the unmet legal needs of the Counties Manukau and Franklin District.We run outreach services in Papakura, Pukekohe, Manurewa and Waiuku.
Our lawyers are passionate about access to justice , they are tenacious ,client result focused,positive and patient .
We have a team of 8 solicitors which consists of 3 Supervising Seniors and 5 staff solicitors . Two of the staff solicitors have split roles where 50% of their time is allocated to the delivery of client services and the other 50% is allocated to delivering legal education to groups and organisations.

About the role
The role of Staff Solicitor/Legal Educator will see you participating in the delivery of legal services to clients in the legal areas of: Family, Civil, Criminal and Administrative Law.
Supervision and legal work allocation will be provided by one of Community Legal Service South Trust's Senior Supervising Solicitors.
You will also deliver Legal Education to Community Groups and Organisations in the areas of Family, Civil, Criminal and Administrative Law.
It is expected that you will also participate in our regular weekly radio slots.
It is also a requirement of the role that you contribute to the Community Legal Services South Trust monthly newsletter.
Skills and experience
Community Legal Services South Trusts preference is for candidates that:
- have a minimum of 1 years practical experience
- are fluent in another language as well as English and is able to translate that language to the written word.
- are resilient , able to manage a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
- have a current practicing certificate or be eligible for one
- are conversant with Microsoft Office Suite
- have a Drivers Licence and car
