The Sous Chef reporting directly to the Head Chef will bring creative flair and ideas, be enthusiastic and have the ability to work in a team environment.

Key duties and expectations in the following areas:

  • Contribution to creative menu design and recipes
  • Food costing
  • Food preparation and presentation meets agreed standards
  • Ability to multi task across all food areas on the hotel e.g. restaurant dining, in room dining, amentities etc
  • Team development, training and co-ordination
  • Cost control
  • Implementation and development of food safety programs
  • Involvement in stock procurement, control and stock take
  • Maintain a clean, safe and tidy work environment at all times
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Available to work roster shifts including weekends and public holidays
  • The right to work in New Zealand
