We have an exciting opportunity in a newly created position for an experienced Guest Services Manager to oversee the operations and administration of the University of Auckland's summer accommodation facilities for 2018-19.
The University of Auckland is New Zealand's leading university. Our accommodation provides a safe, secure and supportive home for students to live and learn in while attending the University. During the summer period, our accommodation facilities host a number of summer stays, conference guests and public bookings, and we endeavour to provide a high quality, professional service to our stakeholders and guests alike. We are seeking a high performing Delivery Manager to join us over summer.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop action plans for the delivery of guest requirements with the accommodation teams
- Monitor the satisfactory performance of cleaning, catering and other contractors within the area reporting any significant issues to the appropriate manager
- Develop and ensure consistent delivery of check in and check out processes for summer accommodation
- Recruit, train and manage high quality seasonal staff in collaboration with the Area Manager (Residential Experience) and in accordance with University and department policy for the accommodation portfolio
We are looking for someone who can lead and develop a cohesive team, and provide encouragement and direction to staff to ensure service delivery outcomes are achieved.
Our ideal candidate has the following:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with guests, staff and senior stakeholders
- Experience using customer management systems and databases
- Minimum three years' experience in the hotel or accommodation industry
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays, and available during the above time
- A current full clean New Zealand driver's licence is preferred for this role

This position is fixed-term position from September 2018 - March 2019.
