An exciting opportunity has come up for a Head Chef to come on board with us to open the newest Bar and Restaurant in Papamoa. 
 

 

We are looking for a competent Head Chef to come in from the beginning, to ensure a fully operational kitchen team is ready to deliver the highest standard of quality with a focus on fresh produce, exceptional customer experience, by delivering an outstanding menu of seasonal & innovative dishes from the onset.

We need a competent hands on chef with a solid background and proven culinary skills in quality establishments, preferably with formal qualifications.  You will have excellent food hygiene standards developing and maintaining our Food Safety Programme, closely manage food costs and labour costs to ensure kitchen budgets are met on a monthly basis.  You have experience in leading a strong team of chefs creating a strong team environment and also working alongside and in support of the General Manager.

Responsibilities of the role include:

 

  • Growing and motivating the kitchen team and maintaining the FOH/ BOH relationship
  • Recruitment and training kitchen staff
  • Communicating directly with the Executive Chef and owners
  • Budgeting and cost control in the kitchen
  • Creative Menu planning
  • Organising efficient work schedules



To apply you will have the following attributes: 

• Fully qualified with experience in a similar Head Chef role
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Proven experience in developing and training a kitchen brigade
• Well organised and creative with excellent food preparation skills
• Positive and outgoing with impact
• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends
• Team player with the ability to calmly work under pressure
