This is a full-time permanent position (40 hours/pw) Monday - Friday and is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Cook who is passionate and creative about food, is able to prepare food at a fast pace and enjoys working in a busy residential facility located on the outskirts of Christchurch .
About the role
The sole charge position requires someone who is reliable and adaptable; willing to undertake food preparation of nutritious, tasty and appealing meals on a daily basis; maintains a clean and tidy kitchen; has excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and is able to be discreet and diplomatic.
Duties:
- Purchasing of all food and associated products is managed within budget.
- Monthly stock inventory of supplies is undertaken and maintained
- 6-weekly menu plan is developed and regularly reviewed
- A nutritional programme that complies with policies and procedures is developed and maintained
- Preparation and serving midday and evening meals
- Some on-site catering for meetings/functions is also required.
Skills and experience
- Certificate in Food Safety Development or similar
- Qualification in the field of nutrition/health and or cooking and/or baking
- Completion of a recognized training programme in food preparation/cooking including kitchen hygiene
- 1st Aid Certificate
