About us:

This job is working for Capital & Coast District Health Board - working for the Community.  This role is within the ORA Wellington Community Team based in Newtown, in beautiful Wellington.   This team works with people aged 16 and above with acquired neurological, long-term, or age-related conditions and has a strong focus on client safety and independence.

About the role:

This opportunity is for a Physiotherapist to join our community service in a permanent, full-time role.  

As a Physio working in this team, your day will be both exciting and varied.  Your day may include assessing and advising clients around equipment solutions, compensatory strategies, falls prevention and education, as well as advice and support around progressing their mobility to enable people to reach their potential. 

You will work collaboratively with our population alongside your allied health, nursing and medical colleagues in the team.  You will work with clients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds in their own homes.

Skills and experience:

You will need to demonstrate your excellent communication skills and build rapport with clients and their whanau. Experience in Enable criteria and equipment provision would be an advantage.  Respiratory knowledge would also be an advantage, however we would be able to provide training in this area for the right candidate.

You will need:

  • to be a New Zealand registered Physiotherapist with a current practicing certificate.
  • a full driving license
  • a can-do attitude and a passion for working alongside people
