If you are an experienced Social Worker with a passion for Women's and Children's health this could be the opportunity for you.

As a social worker in this team you will be a team player with excellent communication skills.  You will have sound social work knowledge and skills, be a team player with excellent communication skills and work cohesively as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT).  You'll be responsible for assessing the client's needs and assisting in their journey through the hospital.  You will need a sound knowledge of family violence and child protection issues and be able to respond to challenging situations appropriately.  You will be able to think on your feet, be experienced at working under pressure and be able to multi task.  You'll be adaptable and flexible allowing you to work effectively with your clients and within a changing health environment.

Ideally you will have experience working in Women's and Children's Health social work.  It is essential that you bring an understanding of the social determinants of health and the impact this has on client's health and social needs.  A core component of this role is to work in the pregnancy counselling team.  You will have experience or willing to up-skill in providing counselling related to termination of pregnancies, adoptions, early pregnancy loss and foetal abnormalities and have pro-choice values.

To be considered for this role applicants must have a professional Social Work qualification and have registration with the New Zealand Social Work Registration Board (NZSWRB) or be able to obtain registration with the NZSWRB within 3 months of appointment.
