Detail information about job Study Co-ordinator (Opportunity for Overseas Doctors). Terms and conditions vacancy

Human Connections Group has partnered exclusively with Optimal Clinical Trials, an independent clinical research company, based in Auckland specialising in phase II & III trials.

The Company

Optimal Clinical Trials was founded by Dr Barney Montgomery in 2013, a graduate of Otago Medical School and a qualified GP. He has worked in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. This organisation is passionate about research that forms the backbone of evidence based medicine, helping develop new medications that improve people's lives.

Today, the business boasts being part of the Deloitte Fast 50 and has a small but efficient team of 15 passionate and professional individuals, all of whom share the same vision, to improve the health and wellbeing of people whilst creating an exciting and positive working environment.

The Job

The purpose of this role is to take ownership for the delivery of clinical trials. This involves coordinating all trial activities ensuring delivery to agreed deadlines, setting up the trial, recruitment of participants and the collation of quality data.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collect, complete and submit all relevant documentation relating to study launch

  • Develop management systems and prepare study initiation

  • Screening and enrollment of participants

  • Management of all study related activities ensuring compliance and proper documentation

  • Recording of all data and study documentation and reporting on adverse events

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and manage audit inspections

Experience and Attributes Required:

  • Exceptional communication skills in both written and spoken English

  • Experience in a customer facing role in New Zealand

  • Ability to run a project from start to finish

  • Excellent relationship building skills

  • Immaculate presentation

You will perhaps currently be working within the public sector as a clinical research professional or within the healthcare industry and ideally have a working knowledge of HDEC submissions, reporting, source documentation and trial management.

You will have a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and the principles of GCP and biomedical research ethics. You will enjoy liaising with both clients and participants and have exceptional communication and relationship building skills.

You will have excellent people skills and clear communication skills. You will also have excellent computer skills and attention to detail, with meticulous organisational capability to ensure that you prioritise your workload.

We will consider applications from experienced Study Coordinators or Doctors who have trained and practised overseas but have not yet achieved a full NZ Practising Licence. This is a clear pathway to obtain your NZ practising licence via an alternative route to work in clinical trials by gaining valuable experience in New Zealand within a private research clinic.
