Allied Health Unit, Dunedin Hospital
- Full-time, 1.0 FTE fixed term to 8 January 2019
There is an opportunity for an enthusiastic Social Worker to join the team at Dunedin Hospital working in Adult Physical health settings. Make a difference by joining our team of highly skilled Social Workers.
You’ll bring experience and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. You'll be responsible for assessing the client’s needs and assisting in their journey through the hospital. You will need a sound knowledge/understanding of vulnerable adults, complex discharge planning and be able to respond to challenging situations appropriately.
Ideally you’ll bring to us experience in working in an adult inpatient hospital setting. It is essential that you bring an understanding of the social determinants of health and the impact this has on client’s health and social needs.
You’ll have sound social work knowledge and skills, be a team player with excellent communication skills. You will be able to think on your feet, be experienced at working under pressure and be able to multi task. You’ll be adaptable and flexible allowing you to work effectively with your clients and within a changing health environment.
To be considered for this role you must hold a professional Social Work qualification and have registration or be able to obtain registration with the Social Work Registration Board within 3 months of appointment.
