We are inviting applications from Consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists keen to relocate to the desirable Nelson/ Tasman region. Situated near the top of the South Island, Nelson city is the geographical centre of New Zealand. It has three national parks within a 90 minute drive and is surrounded by beaches, mountains, hidden valleys, raging rivers and golden sands. As the preferred candidate you will join our specialist team providing secondary level Obstetrics and Gynaecology services and will share a strong commitment to delivering high quality health care for women and families. You will participate fully in the acute roster, facilitate integrated care and foster effective relationships with health professionals across the system to ensure that we achieve maximum support and health gain for our clients.
We have approximately 900 - 1000 births per year in the Nelson/ Tasman region and the Maternity services work closely with Wairau services as well as Wellington's tertiary referral services.
The position offers excellent working conditions, a relocation package and a negotiable commencement date.
Required qualifications and experience include the following:
- FRANZCOG or equivalent post graduate qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or eligible for same*
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate, or eligible for
- Colposcopy training
*Preference will be given to NZ registered Obstetricians and Gynaecologist.
