Detail information about job Assistant Accountant. Terms and conditions vacancy
- Based in Albany
- Varied role with a management reporting focus
- Opportunity to make a difference
G.J. Gardner Homes is NZ's leading group housing organisation and operates within a franchise structure. This is a varied role in our small but high performing Head Office team.
Your role will see you doing a wide range of tasks including:
- Managing the month end process
- Preparation of management reports
- Involvement with Systems implementation
- Regular review of Franchise performance
- Accounting and administration support to the franchise teams
- IRD returns
For this role you will need to have strong interpersonal skills and be able to build relationships with non-finance people. You will have strong attention to detail, a proven ability to take ownership and be able to go beyond just putting numbers together but also being able to provide insight and understanding of the numbers.
You will have strong spreadsheeting skills, be analytical in nature and enjoy problem solving and interpreting information. You will be outgoing and enjoy understanding how a business works rather than just calculating numbers.
With the need to provide support to the franchise team you will have to develop an understanding of existing systems and processes and be capable of suggesting worthwhile improvements. A knowledge of Xero accounting software would be useful but not essential.
As we are a small team we are big on team work and working together towards common goals so you will need to have a flexible attitude and be prepared to assist where required. You must also be available to travel to parts of NZ from time to time.
Your interest will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
