Explore provides specialist behaviour support services using positive behaviour support models to support children and adults with a disability, their family/whanau and their support networks. We use a transdisciplinary model to work across traditional boundaries to bring together a variety of disciplines and expertise which ensures an innovative, person centred and community focused service.

We are seeking Behaviour Support Specialist or Psychologist to join our innovative team. 

In this role you will work collaboratively with clients, their family/whanau and support networks to achieve outcomes that enable them to be part of their community. Essential to this role is the ability to coach and empower people to implement clinically reasoned, innovative and community focussed behaviour support strategies. 

The successful applicant/s will have:

  • relevant qualifications and /or experience such as (but not limited to):
    • Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Teaching, other relevant disability or behaviour support experience.
  • ability to work alongside people to help them prioritise and implement strategies
  • strong cultural awareness and ability to provide culturally appropriate support
  • ability to work in the community in partnership with all stakeholders and identify/access appropriate community and health resources.
  • willingness to work in a transdisciplinary team - coaching and supporting colleagues
  • full driving licence and the ability to travel
