We are looking for a leader to join us as the new Head of Practice Digital Technology, reporting to the General Manager and will be based at our Manukau Campus.

This is are true leadership role and require someone with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, 10 years' experience in the discipline above and 10 years within a Business Environment such as accounting, law, general business or directorship. Experience within an Education Environment would be advantageous.

You will be responsible for helping lead and guide the teaching staff to continuing to deliver educational excellence to our students. You will be held accountable for the financial success of the programmes that fall under your role as well as the teaching staff. You will work closely with colleagues from around the institute like the Academic Centre, Student Journey and People and Culture as you collaborate to create the best journey at MIT for your team and students.

Overall responsibilities include:
  • Accountability for the commercial and academic success of programmes.
  • Identifying new revenue generation opportunities and delivering solutions to drive programme success.
  • Supporting programme teams to seek new opportunities to develop their programmes and business plans.
  • Working cross functionally across the institute.
  • Ensuring a pro-active strategy is developed and implemented for the portfolio.
  • Coaching and supporting teaching staff to develop their industry networks and engagement.
  • Engaging with Nga Kete Wananga Marae and the Pasifika Development Office

Collaboration is the key to success for this role. You will be calling on many internal stakeholder to help you succeed so relationship skills are important. You will also possess top class interpersonal and communication skills, have the ability to coach and influence a team to create a high performing & positive teaching culture. A demonstrated track record in applying continuous improvement methods to process and product development are instrumental in the success of this role. You will need to hit the ground running and be prepared to get your hands dirty, doing the work together with your team. Previous experience in a tertiary environment is ideal and a teaching qualification will be advantageous.
