Nelson City has committed to innovation and technology, and having embraced Travel Demand Management, we are excited to see this new position emerge.
In this role you will work with our community and government agencies to influence positive change in key areas of transport in Nelson, including Road Safety.
Your key pieces of work will include working closely with other organisations/businesses to introduce Workplace Travel Planning, and to manage Councils involvement in the Smart Travel journey planning tool, including development and contribution to the Nelson City Council sustainable transport web pages. You will also manage contracts for the delivery of Community Road Safety programmes.
Your expertise and knowledge of transport and roading will help you develop, lead and implement behaviour change programmes to ensure Nelson has a safe and sustainable transport system for the future.
You will hold a relevant qualification and importantly, you will have advanced communication and relationship management skills. It is these skills which will be essential to your success and will enable you to work collaboratively across Council, with the 2 other Councils at the top of the south, with NZTA, and to influence effectively with key community groups.
