About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager Services & Performance, you will be responsible for taking the lead in the development, implementation and management of commercial strategies, frameworks and systems for all off-street parking facilities under Auckland Transport (AT) ownership with a focus on the long term sustainability of parking revenue streams.

This role is critical to delivering objectives, revenue targets and commitments to business planning for the Parking and Services and Performance departments. This role will also have a prominent part to play in the success of any Transport Operations initiatives reliant on its teams being able to negotiate sound commercial agreements in line with AT strategy.

What we are looking for

Your excellent commercial acumen and disciplined/accurate approach to forecasting significant revenue, whilst identifying risks early and taking action to mitigate potential negative financial consequences form the expectations of this role.

Equally important, your ability to engage and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders both at AT and with our commercial partners.

This position will intentionally draw on your drive to achieve best outcomes and ability to delegate effectively, coach, mentor and empower others.

The ideal candidates will possess:

• A Commercial degree or similar qualification preferred, but not essential
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a procurement, commercial or financial management role in government or private sector
• Experience in commercial negotiation lead on major capital or service projects
• Contract management experience in a complex, multi-party environment
• Proven experience in managing teams in complex organisations
• A good understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government would be an advantage
• Experience in use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint
