We are looking for a professional to lead the development and implementation of best practice Business Continuity strategies for the Waipa District Council. Reporting to the Business Improvement Lead, this role is responsible for ensuring the organisation is appropriately prepared for and can respond to unexpected disruption to normal operations and activities.
Key responsibilities for the position include the following:
- Developing, implementing and embedding a framework of sustainable business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and solutions across the organisation
- Coordinating the planning and execution of regular business continuity exercises within organisation
- Analysis of the impact on, and risk to, essential business functions or systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods or resource required
- Reviewing business continuity policy and plans to ensure compliance and alignment with best practice
To achieve success in this role you will be a strong and effective communicator with the ability to develop excellent working relationships with both internal and external customers. You will have prior experience in a Business Continuity role and be proficient at developing and testing Business Continuity Plans. A relevant tertiary qualification in a business discipline, and local government experience would be an advantage.
