The role

This is a newly created role based at our Newmarket support office and will report to the Group Finance Manager. The Accounts Receivable Manager role involves interaction with our Village teams and Support Office functions to accurately and efficiently process accounts receivable transactions, in line with agreed processes to ensure internal and external service levels and standards are met or exceeded.

The role will involve the remote management, training and mentoring of a team to strive to ensure prompt and accurate processing of accounts receivable transactions while providing efficient service to the village teams and Support Office in a collaborative and supportive team environment. A key component and focus to this role is driving process improvement across the group and achieving consistency across processes.

The role helps to ensure management of accurate billing of residents from their arrival into the village or care home and throughout their time at the village. Tasks undertaken by the team will include resident billing, admissions and movements within the care home, bank and debtor reconciliations, liaise with funding agencies, assisting residents and their families with account queries. You will ensure that the data integrity is maintained at all times and provide professional support and issue resolution to internal and external customers. In addition to managing a general accounts receivable function, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and ad-hoc/value added projects will be part of this role.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in managing an Accounts Receivable function within a large organisation with multiple sites / operations
• Experience in Accounts Receivable, have a can-do attitude and the ability to work to and meet multiple deadlines.
• An eagerness to challenge the status quo and identify areas for improvement and efficiencies within Accounts Receivable
• Ability to maintain records, compile paperwork and accurately process debtor invoices, transactions and reconciliations
• People leadership experience and team player
• Strong knowledge of Excel and multi-entity accounting
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with the business
• Flexible to change and an agile learner
• Excellent attention to detail, time management and organisation skills
• Advanced analytical and creative problem-solving skills combined with good judgement and decision-making ability
• Knowledge of and/or experience with Greentree would be helpful, but is not essential.
• Knowledge of and/or experience with Aged Residential Care (ARC) contracts, DHB/ ACC funding schedules
• Relevant diploma or degree
