The Company:
Southern Spars is looking to recruit into our design team.
Composite materials are revolutionising design and manufacturing in the aeronautical, automotive and sporting industries, and Southern Spars is a leader in carbon fibre technology across all these fields.
We built the winning America's cup boat and have reinvented the track cycling wheel for NZ's Olympic cyclists.
We are looking for someone to help us build on these successes and into the future.
The Role:
Do you have
- an engineering degree or higher specialising in composite materials;
- Material and process engineering experience
- Familiarity with CAD tools
- Experience with polymer materials, processing and equipment
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and attention to details.
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings
- Knowledge of design of experiments and statistical techniques.
- Research and development experience
- Above average communication skills with emphasis on defining technical performance requirements of composite products and processes.
- Proficiency with commercial FEA software as well as Microsoft office suite.
- Ability to train others.
