Are you ready to be a champion? DMS is one of the Bay of Plenty’s leading orchard management and post-harvest operators, specialising in kiwifruit and avocado.  Due to continued company growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated individual to join a professional, results-focused team has arisen. Reporting to the Site Manager, you must have the ability to contribute and engage within a highly demanding environment.  You will part of the team who ensure that the plant and its operation run smoothly within minimal downtime. 

This role requires someone who can undertake a proactive role in carrying out maintenance, repairs and inspections, with the ability to anticipate delays; minimise downtime; and create solutions. You will often have to think outside the square so your ability to handle distractions from major projects to adhoc requests will not phase you.

Skills and Abilities Competencies

  • A confident and competent team player who will bring innovation and problem solving to the role.
  • Planned preventative maintenance
  • Carry out risk assessments / on-site inspections.
  • Organisational and time-management skills with the ability to work autonomously
  • In accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance
  • Health and Safety situational awareness; operate all types of equipment, hand and power tools in accordance with manufacturers’ guidelines.
  • Having previously worked within a maintenance environment and a background in Engineering (lathe / welding) would be advantageous however relevant training / apprenticeship opportunities will be considered for the successful applicant
  • As important, someone who is improvement driven with progression in mind
  • Reside in New Zealand
