Our client is based in Mid Canterbury is looking for a Diesel mechanic who has experience in repairs / maintenance in heavy diesel machinery – preferably in with DAF and Isuzu. Duties would also involve maintenance of machinery and trailers ensuring they meet COF / WOF standard.
The successful candidate will preferably have experience with repairs and maintenance on DAF and Isuzu.
Duties would also involve maintenance of machinery and trailers ensuring they meet COF / WOF standard. Hydraulic and Forklift knowledge would be of assistance.
Experience with repairs / maintenance to small engines would also help. You will need to have knowledge of electrical fault finding. Must have good communication skills to be able to liaise with outside suppliers for parts / assistance with repairs. On occasions work may need to be carried out off site.
Depending on work load you may be required to assist in the fabrication side of the business at times.
The successful candidate must have a proven work history in the following areas
- Repairs of Heavy diesel engines – preferably DAF and Isuzu
- Good knowledge of COF and WOF requirements
- Able to work unsupervised
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Electrical fault finding abilities
- Have Hydraulic skills
- Welding skills would be an advantage
