Senior Structural Engineer

My client is currently seeking a senior structural engineer for their busy Christchurch operation. With branches throughout the country they have serviced the industry for over 40 years in the geotechnical, structural and civil engineering disciplines.
This is a key senior role and while this position is technical and project delivery focused, we require you to undertake your duties by example, demonstrate leadership utilizing your in-depth engineering knowledge and experience to motivate and inspire colleagues and junior team members to high standards of engineering services and design quality.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will:

• Deliver high quality, structural engineering designs within budget and time frames.
• Demonstrate leadership attributes and act as a team leader.
• Depending on the market conditions, you may be involved in insurance and legal type of projects where you may act as an expert witness.
• Thoroughly review the reports of your peers and junior staff as required.
• See projects from conception to completion by liaising with clients, stakeholders, planners, architects, surveyors and engineers.
• Communicate clearly and effectively and you will be expected to deliver assigned work within budget and time frames.

My client expects that you will undertake your duties accordingly as per the Code of Ethical Conduct Engineering New Zealand and with a mindset of best practice. For these reasons, ideally you are expected to be a Member or a Chartered Member of Engineering New Zealand.
