Our client has a great career position available within their Wellington team. They offer a design role that is involved with existing product work, as well as Resarch and Development and Product Development work.
As a suitable applicant for this role, you will be an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer very proficient with SolidWorks, engineering calculations and design for manufacture. Familiarity with designing for a fabrication workshop would be advantageous.
You will enjoy and have proven experience working on product development for more heavier industrial engineering type products, and of course also working with existing products that may require re-design/modification.
Within your experience you will ideally have worked on R and D that has translated through to engineering and fabricated products.
Being a good team player, you may also be looking to advance your career even further upwards.
An ideal Mechanical Design Engineer candidate will be proactive and demonstrate leadership of the projects they are responsible for and will also have the following attributes:
- At least 6 years relevant design experience, including Project Engineering, and have a high level of proficiency with SolidWorks and with engineering calculations.
- Experienced in design for manufacture and fabrication, preferably of industrial or heavy engineering type products, plant and equipment.
- Have a tertiary level qualification at least Bachelor of Engineering level or above.
