About the opportunity
You will work with project staff and the wider civil team with the day-to-day running of projects, developing solutions, responding to technical issues and queries within areas of capability.
You will also manage projects through the design and delivery process in accordance with Calibre procedures and practices.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensuring engineering activities are performed in accordance with the project requirements and Calibre’s technical standards
- Understanding tasks, deliverables and timescales with allocated resources
- Preparing preliminary and detailed designs, specifications and documentation for all projects
- Identifying training gaps and facilitate training courses where applicable
- Actively promoting and continuously communicating on the best engineering practices both in the project, the broader business and the marketplace
- Using AutoCAD and Civil 3D Design to produce drawings and schedules for a range of disciplines
- Producing design calculations for roading, water and environmental works
- Preparing quantity schedules
- Working on a range of drawings and schedules for transportation, utilities, and other general civil projects.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in the civil or transportation field
- 5+ years’ experience in a technical capacity in roading and urban development fields
- A good understanding of best practice and relevant standards in the water, civil and transportation fields including Local Authority procedures and requirements
- Demonstrable experience in undertaking engineering duties in the water, transportation and urban development engineering areas
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Proficient with the use of Civil 3D and AutoCAD
