The Company
My client is a large NZ business with operations across NZ & Australia. The business operates in the manufacturing sector and is an iconic NZ brand. Privately owned, the business is large and continues to expand its operations.
The Role
The role of Commercial manager will report to a GM based in Australia for an Australian business unit. You will focus on supporting the GM with a separate commercial manager focusing on the NZ business. The structure has a shared service finance team so you will partner with the NZ Accountant who will provide the monthly account preparation. Your role will then focus on adding value and responsible for:
- Weekly forecasts & analysis on sales & margin lines
- Monthly P&L production supported with an in-depth management report, including analysis of sales, discounts, customers, products, margin & mix.
- Reporting and understanding performance of core KPI’s and drivers
- Preparation of Board reports in conjunction with the GM
- Budgets and forecasts and reporting on variances herewith
- Supporting sales & marketing functions to aid effective decision making
- Driving process improvement and focusing on adding value.
- Business case support on new business opportunities including capex proposals.
This is a role that has loads of ad hoc project work and it is will be your ability to work with the business and influence people across the business.
Your Profile
To be considered for this role, you will be dynamic in personality, enjoy being outside of core finance but have a strong analytical business support background and be prepared to go the extra mile. It is a down to earth environment where you can make a difference and it will be this that will drive you. It would be highly advantageous if you have worked in FMCG or manufacturing. Your ability to write well written reports to Board level is also imperative.
