About the company:
Join one of the largest residential developers in New Zealand with a property portfolio worth more than $20b. The future spend on construction is forecast into the billions and they are constantly positioning themselves to deliver developments that lead the NZ market in residential construction.

About the role:
As the Development Manager you will review the strategic plan, do the feasibility review and give feedback to stakeholders ensuring the strategy delivers to the mandate of the business. You will prepare the business case for developments and it is critical you understand the sites and what issues you may face. You will have a demonstrated understanding of risk and be able to communicate the risks to key stakeholders.
  
You are responsible for gaining resource consent, you will apply your knowledge of the RMA and work with local councils to ensure resource consent is approved. You will establish and gain approval for resource consent budgets and lead and facilitate internal and external stakeholder interactions with stakeholders that include neighbours, councils, transport and water authorities. Most of your time will be focused on all aspects leading up to construction however you will be the face of the projects throughout the complete development cycle ensuring they are successfully completed.
  
You will compile a development plan, document project KPIs, engage design consultants and attend design meetings. You will chair project control group meetings and work with the wider team to develop and prepare project feasibility reports. In this role as a Development manager you are responsible for approximately $50M of asset pipeline turnover per year.


What we need from you:
We are looking for someone with good knowledge of front end development, you will need strong commercial acumen and strategic savvy, you must have strong facilitation, problem solving and negotiation skills. You will have experience in building developments and have the ability to understand and implement strategic objectives.

Experience in residential or commercial construction and land development is looked upon favourably.
