About the Business
My client is locally owned company that has been operating in the Christchurch market since 2004. Recently expanding into the Auckland Region, a need has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team.
About the role
As our new Senior Quantity Surveyor, it will be your responsibility to lead the pricing side of the business. You will create, refine and complete pricing models which allow us to accurately assess project costs and ensure we remain competitive and profitable. As you will at times, be representing the company directly with clients, you will have a second to none customer manner and work with the Operations Manager to create and submit proposals to clients. This role will suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a similar role.
The role will include but is not limited to:
- Review of tender documentation
- Pricing and Estimation of projects
- Assessment of scope
- Obtain subcontractor quotes, review inclusions, exclusions and conditions
- Procurement of subcontractor and supplier agreements
- Progress claims variations and payments
Skills and Experience
To be a successful in your application you will need:
- Previous experience estimating within the electrical industry
- Experience and efficiency in tender preparation and delivery
- To be competent with measuring and pricing
- Ability to create long standing relationships with contractors and clients
- Superior time management skills and ability to never miss a deadline
- A solid understanding of electrical design and construction methods
- Demonstrable knowledge of a wide range of electrical material/products
- Effective working both autonomously and as part of a wider team
- Appetite for finding out of the box solutions
- Competent Microsoft office skills
- Previous experience with Simpro would be an advantage
