Our Company is a market leader in the design, innovation and manufacture of interior wall and ceiling systems for large scale commercial buildings. The business operates throughout Australia, New Zealand,  Asia and India and is part of a global group. We are currently looking to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer based in NZ for our growing operation after having completed an important acquisition in early 2018.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, this role will focus on managing technical enquiries and supporting design driven specifications for architects and engineers, and during the tender and construction phases for Main Contractors and Sub-Contractors. Based at our Mangere office in Auckland or our Hornby Office in Christchurch, this role will cover both the North and South Island's with a focus on generating market opportunities through establishing and developing relationships with architects, engineers, designers, and key contractors, converting leads to new business and securing project specification. Regular travel will be required as part of this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising and engaging with architects, engineers, and designers, main contractors, sub contractors, interior installers and other entities related to our business – building and developing these relationships and focusing on offering technical design support;
  • Managing the day to day technical sales activities
  • Track, coordinate and convert construction leads into new business for Rondo and its distribution partners;
  • Achievment of sales budget and KPI’s
  • Ensure new product rollouts are achieved effectively;    
  • Achievement of company market share goals
  • Taking an active role with safety activities and initiatives;
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.

To succeed in this position you will have 2 to 3 year’s experience in construction engineering, preferably being familiar with non-structural interior elements design, ideally with a background in the commercial construction sector and a demonstrated track record in technical sales acheiving high customer satisfaction. A tertiary qualification in Structural Engineering  would be required. You will have a demonstrated track record of building and maintaining strong customer relationships. Excellent communication and customer service skills and proficiency with with Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint, are essential.
