Reporting to the Sales Manager - NZ the Area Sales Manager will be responsible for leading the sales activity in all trailer and associated truck bodies for assigned product segment and territory.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Management and sales to an assigned group of existing customers
Develop and implement strategies to secure new profitable key accounts
Negotiate and sell new trailers and equipment and provide advice on new product development strategies.
Provide innovative ideas for business growth
Manage key account relationships to drive growth by being customer centric.
Strategic planning and objective setting to further develop market share
Maximise revenues, manage sales budgeting and forecasts
Initiate and maintain contact with customers and prospects
Determine prices within guidelines, co-ordinate delivery and other matters that facilitate the sale.
Track and report on market and competitor activities
Create synergies between sales delivery and supply chain team
Act as liaison between the customer, production and engineering as appropriate to clarify customer requirements and to monitor scheduled delivery.
To be successful you will need:
- Solid experience in a sales and business development role
- Product knowledge and experience selling freight transport or capital equipment - ability to sell transport solutions as opposed to a product
- Strong financial management skills
- Good understanding of product engineering and supply chain
