Development West Coast (DWC) is an innovative organisation that was established to promote sustainable employment and generate sustainable economic benefits for the West Coast Region through tailored investment and the provision of targeted resources. To support DWC’s new strategic direction with greater emphasis on working hand in hand with their West Coast businesses, DWC needs an experienced and capable Business Development Manager with tourism expertise to join the team in Greymouth. Reporting to the Economic Development Manager and working closely with the Business Development Team and Tourism West Coast, the Business Development Manager – Tourism takes accountability for driving sustainable economic growth for the region; with a focus on tourism business and event opportunities. This includes:

• Supporting existing regional-based tourism and events businesses to succeed through the provision of advice and support and by facilitating connections with markets (national and international) and national support services like NZTE;
• Identifying opportunities to bring new tourism and event business into the region and supporting the successful establishment of these new businesses;
• Removing roadblocks to commercial success in the region through the provision of advice, support and man-power as necessary.

This is a key and high-profile role within DWC; taking a market facing position within the region, developing relationships and resolving challenges. Sound like you?
