ABOUT THE ASB CLASSIC:
The ASB Classic is New Zealand’s premier annual sporting event attended by tens of thousands of people enjoying the World’s best tennis players, iconic New Zealand restaurants and musicians and delivering an unrivalled entertainment experience.
ROLE SUMMARY:
As the key point of contact with our commercial partners, you will be responsible for day to day management and delivery of outcomes for the ASB Classic sponsors, broadcasters, ticketing and hospitality partners. You will have significant experience delivering sponsorship campaigns either as a rights holder or a sponsoring brand and have a detailed understanding of rights delivery in the sports and entertainment space and have aspirations to develop into a Head of commercial role in the future.
This is a key role for the organisation and has the ability for the right candidate to utilise their creative flair, marketing or consumer insights and first-class project management skills to take the ASB Classic and its partners to new levels.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in sponsorship, experiential marketing and communications as well as having outstanding problem-solving ability.
- An understanding of the event landscapes, sponsorship and the requirements of this fast paced and demanding industry.
- Outstanding relationship skills and proven account management experience.
- Proactive and highly organised, with strong time management skills, meticulous quality control and attention to detail and a proven ability to multi task.
- Strong and confident communicator, communicating effectively, clearly and confidently in visual, written, verbal and electronic forms.
- Ability to handle pressure associated with delivering high profile events efficiently, prioritising workloads and meeting multiple conflicting deadlines.
- A keen interest in and understanding of tennis and the entertainment industry.
Note: This is not a 9am to 5pm role, this project-based role will require evening and weekend work leading up to and during the event.
