About the business and the role

Eighty4 Recruitment specialises in placing engineering and construction professionals throughout New Zealand.

We have an opportunity with one of our clients for an experienced Recruiter to manage the internal function and provide excellent service delivery to the business.

The position will be responsible for providing timely recruitment support, administration and coordination to the company and their project teams to ensure a skilled workforce is recruited and available.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Identify and execute long-term strategy for resourcing plan in line with business needs
  • Manage the recruitment lifecycle for both trades and professional positions
  • Identify specific position requirements for the projects in consultation with the Project and Senior Managers
  • Undertake internal enquiries to identify candidate referral opportunities
  • Advertise positions and manage the response
  • Phone screen to identify suitability, and organise face to face or phone interviews
  • Ensure medical checks and operator competency testing is organised and conduct reference checks
  • Manage the on-boarding process to make sure new employees have a good experience
  • Visit sites to meet with staff and keep up-to-date with scope of works
  • Attend resourcing meetings and others as required
  • Prepare spreadsheets outlining / updating staff requirements and or any other needs

Skills and experience

  • At least 5 years recruitment experience, either internal or agency
  • Previous experience with civil construction recruitment or similar industry strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships across the organisation
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing challenges
  • The capability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and work autonomously
